Dear Rainforest Families,
We are super excited about our Spring Art Show next week on Friday May 21 from 4:00-6:00. It’s going to be an open house event that is something like we have never done before but we think it’s going to be an amazing show!
The plan:
The show will be located at 1400 South Wabash, in the parking lot right across the street from our new south loop location! We will have two large tents filled with amazing art work done by the students, food, drinks, music and much more. There will be a designated changing area and bathrooms available.
The only scheduled performance will be our Pre-K classroom (Ms. Eve’s room) reading their poems on the stage the musicians are playing on at 4:45pm. The students have been practicing and are very excited about reading their poems.
New South Loop Location Tours
Families will be able to do a walk-through of our new location located at 1401 South Wabash. We are starting to set up classrooms with furniture to prepare to go through licensing. Though we don’t have a definite date that we will be making the move we wanted to show parents a sneak peak of what’s happening inside.
Pick up
Our plan is that we will walk all of the students over from Rainforest to the art show on Wabash at 4:15pm. We advise students not to bring any belongings that day, if for some reason backpacks etc. are left behind, there will be a teacher at the 1325 S. State school until 5:30. The students will stay with their teacher and classroom until they are picked up by their parents. Parents will need to sign out their student on our attendance sheet at that time. Please do not take your child until you sign out your child and have communication with the child’s lead teacher.
Room 2/ Ms. Maria’s Infant Classroom - You are welcome to pick up your child at the school at 4:00 – 4:15 then walk over to the art show. Otherwise, the infants will be staying at the school until picked up.
Room 10/ Pre-K Classroom – We are asking families to wait until after the classroom reads their poem before picking up your child. Again, we will be reading poems at 4:45-5:00pm.
Families that need to pick up their child early that day or will not be able to attend the art show please communicate with Ms. Sarah that you will be picking up your child before 4:00pm.
So please grab some drinks, food, listen to some music, poetry and check out our new South Loop location.
For some reason if we need to make any changes on the day of the show because of rain, snow, high winds or anything else that could possibly happen in Chicago we will be sending out group emails with any changes.
